Job Description
The Academic Head for Retail Sales in EdTech will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the academic content and strategy that aligns with retail sales initiatives. Ensures that the educational products and services meet high standards of academic integrity and effectiveness, while also aligning with market trends and sales targets.
1. Academic Strategy and Leadership:
- Develop and implement an academic strategy to support retail sales efforts.
- Lead academic content development, ensuring alignment with educational standards and market demands.
- Act as the academic face of the company in sales pitches and customer engagements.
2. Curriculum and Product Oversight:
- Review and oversee the development of curriculum, ensuring it meets both academic rigor and retail marketability.
- Ensure that all learning materials, courses, and products meet accreditation and compliance standards.
- Work with product teams to develop innovative and engaging educational products suitable for retail channels.
3. Collaboration with Sales Teams:
- Collaborate closely with retail sales teams to understand customer needs and pain points.
- Provide academic insights to help craft sales strategies that resonate with target audiences, including schools, institutions, and individual consumers.
- Support sales teams with presentations, product demos, and academic expertise during sales meetings.
4. Training and Development:
- Train retail sales teams on the academic value and benefits of products, helping them to articulate these to potential customers.
- Ensure the sales team is well-equipped with the academic knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
- Develop educational workshops and webinars for customers to enhance product understanding.
5. Market and Competitor Analysis:
- Monitor trends in the EdTech space, particularly in the retail sales domain, to keep products relevant.
- Analyze competitors’ products from an academic perspective and suggest improvements or differentiators for your company’s offerings.
6. Customer Engagement and Support:
- Engage directly with key retail customers to understand their academic needs and gather feedback on products.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing academic concerns or queries related to product use or curriculum relevance.
7. Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the quality of educational content, including assessments, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with the latest pedagogical best practices.

- Master’s degree/Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
- 08Years to 15 years’ experience in a university environment and/or working in development/management organization.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills: This includes presentation/speaking skills and small group facilitation. Exemplary writing and
editing skills are required - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment
- Strong computing skills, including the ability to self-teach in order to gain mastery systems as well as the ability to train others in systems.
